What to Expect On Your First Visit

Not everyone has the same dental experiences and needs. Before you even come to the practice for your first visit, we will make sure to get to know you a little to assess what your expectations and goals are in visiting the dentist. By doing this, we are able to better customize your first visit to fit your expectations. Depending on your goals, we offer the following types of first visits:

OPTION 1: Comprehensive Exam (duration: 1 hour+)

Our practice is focused on providing you with the most ideal treatment possible. In order to give you all the information that you need about your oral health, we recommend a truly comprehensive exam. Think of it like your annual physical exam at the doctor's office.

Dentist Downtown LA

During your first visit with us, we will make sure to address your chief concerns in a comfortable and non-intimidating environment. We will take several photographs and necessary x-rays. We may also take impressions of your teeth if needed. The doctor will take time to listen to your concerns and spend some time doing a series of exams and evaluations. During this process, you and your doctor will be co-discovering your oral condition. By doing this, we are able to give you a better picture of what's going on and why you may have the problems you are experiencing (if any). If you are in top shape with minimal issues, we will make sure to let you know how to continue to maintain your oral health for many years to come.

OPTION 2: Regular Exam + Cleaning (duration: 30 minute exam + 20-30 minute regular cleaning)

For patients who do not want a long comprehensive appointment, but would still like all their teeth checked and cleaned, we offer a shortened 30-minute exam followed by a regular cleaning. The exam will include necessary x-rays, oral cancer screening, and tooth-by-tooth exams. The exam may not address in depth all issues that you might have, but focuses on your chief concern and maintaining your teeth at an acceptable level.

OPTION 3: Limited Exam + Treatment (duration: 15 minute exam + varying treatment time)

For patients who just want their main concern addressed, we offer a limited exam that just looks at the problem and addresses this issue only. The exam may take 15 to 20 minutes, followed by treatment of the issue if it can be done right away. Many procedures may take multiple visits to complete.
