We built City of Angels Dentistry as a fee-for-service practice, which means your treatment recommendations are based on what's best for you, not what an insurance plan dictates. But you can still use your PPO coverage; we accept all plans, estimate your benefits before treatment, and file your claims for you.

Staying out of network is what gives Dr. Kevin Chin the freedom to spend real time with you, use the materials and lab he trusts, and sequence your care around your goals rather than a plan's annual maximum.

Understanding your payment options

Using PPO insurance
We accept all PPO plans. Before treatment, we'll estimate what your carrier is likely to cover and what your portion may be, then file your claim for you. Many PPO plans cover a meaningful share of out-of-network care.
Using HMO, DMO, Medi-Cal, or Denti-Cal
We aren't able to work with these plans, and we'll tell you that on the phone rather than after you've taken time off work for an appointment.
No insurance?
Our in-house membership plan covers your preventive care for a flat annual fee, with no deductibles, waiting periods, or annual maximums.
Planning a larger treatment?
Financing through CareCredit and Cherry lets you spread payments over time. We also accept cash and credit cards, and you'll know the full cost before treatment begins.

Dr. Chin earned his DDS at USC, completed advanced cosmetic training at UCLA, and studied treatment planning and functional occlusion at the Kois Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Yes. We accept all PPO plans, estimate your coverage in advance, and submit the claim for you. Being out of network changes what your carrier reimburses, not whether you use your benefits.

Network contracts come with rules about time, materials, and labs. Staying out of network lets Dr. Chin make those calls himself: how long your appointment runs, which lab makes your restoration, and what he recommends based on your mouth rather than a contract. Those choices are what decide how long your dentistry holds up.

Yes. You get a written estimate covering the full fee, your projected insurance portion, and your out-of-pocket amount before anything begins. Nothing gets added later without a conversation.

No. It is a direct arrangement between you and this practice covering preventive visits for a flat annual fee, with no carrier in between. Ask the front desk to walk you through it.
